Six months in: What we're loving, learning & launching
Your monthly Diversity, Equity & Inclusion newsletter by House of Inclusion
Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? July always gives that energy - a little reflective, a little chaotic, and a whole lotta sun. It’s the month where you realize how much has happened (and how much you still want to get done).
For us, June was an absolute whirlwind. Pride Month had us everywhere: from workshops to keynotes to panel talks and beyond. We’ve had the joy of connecting with so many brilliant people along the way. People who are just as committed to building more inclusive, more human workplaces as we are. And honestly? That connection fuels everything we do.
This newsletter is our monthly exhale. A moment to pause, reflect, and share what’s been lighting us up lately, the projects we’re proud of, the humans we’ve been learning from, and a little peek at what’s coming next.
So grab your iced oat latte (or beer, no judgment), and let’s dive in.

SPOTLIGHT: How 15 major brands changed their approach to Pride Month this year

Even though we want to keep the positive spirit alive (and we will!), we also have to face the music: the DEI backlash is real. Over the past year, we’ve seen a growing trend of companies quietly walking back their DEI commitments, from cutting budgets to scrapping entire programs altogether.
For Pride, that’s had very real consequences. Some organizations are struggling to fund their events, others have had to downscale, and many are being met with more resistance than support. What once felt like progress is now feeling like performative allyship on a timer.
So what does this mean for D&I as a whole? It means we can’t rely solely on big institutions to lead the way. It means community, consistency, and courage matter more than ever. It means we need to keep showing up, loudly, lovingly, and unapologetically, even when the spotlight fades.
Because inclusion isn’t a trend. And Pride? That was never just a party. 🏳️🌈
